We're On a Boat!

Yesterday (Memorial Day), we spent many, many hours on our friends Andy and Allison's boat on Geist Reservoir. It was quite sunny and hot, and we have the sun burns to prove it...and yes, we did apply (and reapply) sunblock. 

Kevin enjoyed taking a dip in the COLD water and floating around on the tube and noodle.

Baby Ashley, Andy and Allison's daughter, had a wonderful time as well, as you can see. 

It was a very relaxing day and we are looking forward to spending more weekends on the boat with them this summer. I will be sporting some new swimsuits, though, since the old ones are not so conducive to my changing proportions!

Summer Has Arrived

Summer is here! It is so nice to know that I don't have to go to bed early so that I can get up at 5am. I hope to not see that time show up on my alarm until the school year begins again in the middle of August.

There are a couple of other things that have arrived. 

First, the nursery furniture. The set is quite large, and I am getting used to all the furniture in the room. I made Kevin move the pieces around MANY times before it ended up in pretty much the original spots. I think once the glider and ottoman are in the room, plus the decor is up, it might look less overwhelming to me. What do you think?

The other thing that has arrived is a slight baby bump. I know it might not be evident to you out there in blog-land, but trust me, I am noticing it. I even had to break out the Be Band, and on another occasion, pull the old hair tie through the button hole trick. I've also begun my adventures in maternity clothes shopping. Any suggestions or favorite pieces? 

17 weeks...can you spot the baby bump?

16 Weeks

At first I thought there was a definite bump, but after further investigation, Kevin and I came to the conclusion that it was the construction of the dress I was wearing. Oh well! My clothes still fit the same, so I don't think there is anything there. At this point, I'm just trying to see how long I can go without showing...it's not like I'm itching to buy maternity clothes!

This week in baby news: We've ordered nursery furniture! The crib, changer, and dresser should be on the way and delivered this Friday. I know many of my friends had to order their furniture early because they had to wait for 6-12 weeks for delivery. My goal is to get the nursery done this summer, so I don't have to worry about it when school starts up again in August, so I thought we should order early. Turns out, we only had a 2 week wait!

Thankful

This week has been crazy, which is why I forgot to post my belly picture for 15 weeks. Better late than never!

As you can see, still no notable bump. Let's see how long this baby takes to make his or her first noticeable appearance.

This week, the gifted and talented classes went camping. That's right...57 kids, 18 parents, and 3 teachers. Good times! I'm so thankful that the kids had a blast, but I'm even more thankful to say that this trip is behind me. While I was gone, Kevin painted the baby's room! One more thing to check off of the list.

I am also thankful for my pregnancy and my MANY friends' pregnancies. Yesterday, I heard some very sad news and it made me so grateful that things are on track with me and my girlfriends who are expecting.

I will hopefully remember to post my picture this weekend, not that there will be much of a change! 

Mother's Day

This year, we spend Mother's Day in Cincinnati with Kevin's family. My brother and mom joined us to celebrate, so I was lucky enough to be with both of my moms. I even got a few Mother's Day gifts...my first! I know some people are weird about moms-to-be "counting" as mothers, but I figure, I am taking care of a baby already...or at least my body is!

He remembered that I mentioned it one time, so I was not only surprised he actually got me a gift, but that he listened during a random conversation!

 I will be raising a future IU fan...even though he or she is part Boilermaker!

My mother-in-law got me this...

 It's perfect for my laptop or the beach. Plus, it had lots of fun makeup in it!

Just one more picture...me at 14 weeks. It looks a lot like me at 13 weeks...and 12 weeks.

The Name Game

Today I told my class that we are expecting a baby. They were VERY excited. They asked lots of questions, like "How many months pregnant are you?" and "Do you know if it's a boy or a girl?" and "Do you know what you're going to name the baby?" To the last question, I replied that we had names picked out, but that I was open to suggestions. I was curious at what they would say, and I'm glad I said that, because one of my kids came up with the funniest name suggestion. Let me preface the suggestion by saying that we have been working on a unit about "Space and Technology". 

The name was...

Galileo.

That's right...Galileo Pinsky!! 

HILARIOUS!!

So until we know what it is, I've dubbed the baby, Galileo.

P.S. - The same student said, "Good luck with having that baby...it's gonna hurt!" Seriously????

Introducing...Baby Pinsky!

That's right! Kevin and I are thrilled to announce that we are expecting a little bundle of joy in November. Here are some pictures we've been taking to document the first few months.
